Acting Genre Descriptions


 All items can be performed in Afrikaans and/or English and participants can enter as many genres as they wish, but only 1 item per language per genre.  

All acting performances must be in good taste and age appropriate. 
Where props are used, participants must be able to carry it on/off performance space themselves.

Advertisement

For this genre you will choose your own topic / product that you will be advertising creatively to the audience.

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).

Unprepared Advertisement

Participants will receive a topic / product from the adjudicator that they need to advertise to the audience.  The advertisement should be original and creative.

Participants have 7-10 minutes to prepare before the start of the item.   They are then allowed 50-90 seconds to present their advertisement. 

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).

Broadway / Musical theatre

A genre of drama in which singing play an essential part. This genre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting,
and movement.

The performance must be from a known Broadway show or Musical. It must consist of 50% - 70% spoken dialogue. The balance
must be singing.

No backtrack/backing music is allowed. Costumes and makeup must be suitable for the chosen play.

Dialogue

Dialogue is a conversation between two or more people in a narrative work.

The dialogue must leave a clear, positive message in the minds of the audience. This event should employ all the skills of a good dramatic presentation.

Pre-scribed black drama costume or costume that is functional and motivated. Props may be used, but participants must be able to carry it on/off the stage themselves.

Improve

Participants perform a 20 second improv on a topic chosen for them by the adjudicators.

Participants have 5 minutes to prepare before the start of the item. The participant is requested to portray an original act/situation with the use of speech, movement and gestures.

Participants are judged on the use of space, movement, sound effects and vocabulary

Limerick

 Limerick is a mock verse of only 5 lines.

The first, second and fifth lines rhyme, and the third and fourth line must rhyme.

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).

Mime

A person using gestures and movement should portray an original situation.

No speech and props may be used.

Participants will be adjudicated on the use of movement and
space.

Mime attire should be worn if possible. Advisable to "announce" the topic by using an A4 white cardboard with the topic written on it.

This entry will fall under the Afrikaans section.

Unprepared Mime

The participant will receive a topic chosen by the adjudicator, 5 minutes prior to the start of the item.

Participants should use gestures and movement to portray the topic. No speech and props may be used.

Participants will be adjudicated on the use of movement and
space.

Mime attire should be worn if possible.

This entry will fall under the Afrikaans section).

Monologue

This is the presentation of one character from a book or a play
using functional movement, gesture and speech.

The performance should include gesture and speech. The following type of monologues can be performed under this category:
- Classical Monologue: The nature of the extract should be from a classical play or story (i.e. Shakespear, Cinderella etc).
Comical Monologue: The nature of the extract should be humorous.
- Contemporary Monologue: It is a modern day monologue and while there are no specific dates for time frames that are inclusive of the term, this genre is typically understood to be from the current century, depicting modern themes and story lines.
- Dramatical Monologue: The nature of the extract should be dramatic (serious).

Props and costume may be used,
but it must be motivated and functional.  Participants must be able to carry props on/off the stage themselves.

Biblical Prose 

Individual presentation of a memorised passage with religious
themes from the Holy Bible (any version).

The extract selected should be understood and appreciated, phrasing and pause should clarify the meaning. The speaker should modulate effectively to make the passage lively and interesting. Paint the picture of what you are communicating by using your voice, body and face.

Dramatised Prose

Prose is an extract from a written piece. The written word is dramatized using motivated gestures and movement. Dialogue must be strongly characterised.

The selected passage should contain a narrator and one/more characters that will be characterized by using a special voice and different body movements. The use of movements should be motivated and natural.

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).




Undramatised Prose

Prose is an extract from a written piece. Dialogue must be strongly characterised.

The selected passage should contain a narrator and one/more characters.

Formal interpretation by making use of vocal and facial expression only. No gestures.

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).

Dramatised Poetry

Any type of poem may be performed as long as it is age appropriate and of a suitable length.

The written word is dramatised using motivated gestures and movement. The use of movement, voice and facial expression should always be motivated and should always enhance the poem and the overall presentation of the poem.

Props and costumes can be used, or alternatively comfortable black outfit.

Undramatised Poetry

Any type of poem may be performed as long as it is age appropriate and of a suitable length.

Formal interpretation by making use of vocal and facial expression only. No gestures.

No props or costumes (Comfortable black outfit).

Open

For those performers who are a little indecisive on what to choose, as anything may be performed under the Open genre.  
If you have more than one piece under a certain category, it can be entered here.

Storytelling

The participant can choose any story, either written by the performer self, or a chosen story. 

A complete story should be told, including a plot as well as characterisation.  A meaningful story should be portraited via facial and vocal expression.

Unprepared Storytelling

Participants will be provided with a subject by the adjudicator.  

The participant will have  should 10 minutes to prepare a story.  The story should include a plot and characterisation. They will have 2-3 minutes to tell their story to the audience.

Redenaars Genre Beskrywings


Alle items kan in Afrikaans en / of Engels gedoen word en deelnemers kan vir soveel genres inskryf as wat hulle wil, maar slegs 1 item per taal per genre. Toesprake kan individueel of in groepe gedoen word.

Redenaars Voorbereid

'n Onderwerp moet geformuleer word vanuit 'n tema, wat bestaan ​​uit 'n standpunt, wat met argumente en bronne beredeneer moet word, met ander woorde, dit is 'n beredeneerde toespraak en nie 'n blote praatjie nie.

Die toespraak moet interessant en vermaaklik wees.

Deelnemers moet hul eie pen / potlood saambring, asook hul eie cue-kaarte om mee voor te berei.   

Dancing Genre Descriptions


All routines must be in good taste and age appropriate.

Dance items are limited to 2.5 minutes per item. 

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.

t is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context, dispaying balance and flexibility.

Routine must include choreography, dance technique and fluent movement.

Ballet

A classical style of expressive dancing based on an elaborate formal technique and precise conventional steps with gestures and movements of grace, precision and fluidity.

Routine must display strong technique, athleticism, and grace.

Can be performed in ballet slippers or Pointe shoes.

Ballroom / Latin

Ballroom dancing is
a routine with partners and include various styles:
• Waltz
• Foxtrot
• Tango
• Quickstep
• Viennese Waltz
• Rumba
• Cha Cha Cha
• Samba
• Jive

Broadway/Musical Theatre

A routine interpreting a song from a “Broadway” or movie musical,
through any style of dance.

This routine must be story-focused and include character-driven movement, exaggeration, quirkiness and athleticism.

Character

This is a dance routine
portraying a character from a play, movie, television show or a stereotype (i.e. doctor, policeman, etc.) 

Any dance genre may be performed under this category.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that abandons the rigid, centered aspect of classical forms of dance, and utilizes unconventional movements from styles around the world. It incorporates certain elements of ballet, modern dance, and jazz.

Basic Contemporary styles such as Horton & Graham techniques are accepted.

Disco

Disco dance is a style of dance highly dependent on disco music.

Disco dance is a fusion of Classical dance (spins and jumps), Jazz (isolations, core and connecting steps, spins and jumps), Modern, Rock'n'Roll (footwork, mostly kicks), Aerobics (footwork) and gymnastics and acrobatics

Dancers build their choreography with the focus on their interpretation of music, their dancing technique and expressiveness. 

Ethnic

Ethnic dance is any dance form which can be identified as originating with an ethnic culture and expressing the movement aesthetics of that culture.

This routine must consist of dance styles that is characteristic of a particular cultural / ethnic group. 

Freestyle

Freestyle dance incorporates many genres of dance, which evolve with the current music trends. It can be very physical and high energy or slow and expressive.

Steps and movements most associated with Freestyle are spins, kicks, leaps, runs and slick arm and head actions.

Your routine must demonstrate self expression combined with flexilbility and stamina.

Hip-Hop/Funk

Hip-hop is a dance style that combine funky dance movements usually perfomed to trendy
hip-hop music.  

Fusion of street moves and Jazz dance technique. It can include a combination of different techniques like, popping, locking, breaking, rotations and jumps .

It is a high-energy dance routine, incorporating challenging routines and beats. 

Jazz

Jazz dance key features include using feet, arm, and hand positions, isolations (head, shoulder, hips), timing, shape, and movements including body rolls, jazz walks, swings, and kicks.

While the routine incorporates
some classical moves, its fast pace with a high level of improvisation, and uses upbeat music. 

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is defined as a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, modern, and hip hop, while still maintaining its autonomy.

Lyrical dance is usually emotionally charged and expressive and give dancers a chance to express a range of strong emotions through their dancing. Their movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. It is very passionate and can tell a story through movement.  

Modern

Modern Dance is a routine that is
related to both Ballet and Jazz and which develops different movements and styles to a varied choice of music.

The dancers must create “lines” and dance with breadth, freedom of movement and emotion. The danceis based upon the use of contraction and relaxation, lots of “accents” and the dimensions of dance. 

Song & Dance

Song & dance is a theatrical performance combining singing and dancing, where at least 50% being dance.

Tap

Tap dance is a type of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. 

Dancers wear tap shoes to
execute tap technique.

Traditional

This dance style requires not only an ethnic identification, but a "participatory" and aesthetic tradition. It is dance that is an integral part of the culture of a

A dance developed by people that reflect the life of the people of a certain country or region.  The term "traditional" is used when it is required to emphasize the cultural roots of the dance. 

Examples:  Spanish; Bhangra etc

Open

A routine combining any forms of dance styles or a routine that does not fit any category.

Dance styles such as Belly Dancing, Gum Boot and Cheer leading are included here.

If you have more than one style per genre, you can enter you additional dances under the open category.

Instrumental Genres


Instruments are divided into four main categories: strings, woodwind, brass and percussion. There are a countless number of instruments available under these categories, therefore we welcome any instruments on our stage.

Please ensure that you hand in a copy of your sheet music to the adjudicator prior to your performance.

Baroque

Baroque Music originated between 1600-1750.

It was during the 17th Century that the system of modes finally crumbled away. By adding accidentals the Major/Minor key system developed.

Baroque music includes music by composers like Vivaldi, Handel,
A. Scarlatti, Couperin, D. Scarlatti, Lully, Corelli, Rameau,
Monteverdi, Purcell & Bach.   

Blues 

The Blues, a haunting, stylistic type of music, is based on the use of 'blue' notes or the intentional aberration or 'bending' of a scalar tone on a repetitive pattern, which is usually a twelve-bar structure. This gives the blues its characteristic melody and harmony.

Broadway

This section can only contain music from a Broadway or West End Musical and cannot contain music from Motion pictures. 


Classical

Classical music describes music that is considered serious or intellectual and is usually written in a traditional or formal style.  

Classical music includes music by composers from Albonini to Bach, Chopin, DeBussy, Elgar, Franck, Gerswin, Handel, Ibert, Janaceck, Kuhlau, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Offenbach, Palestrina, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Teleman, Verdi and Wagner.  Written between 1750-1830.

Contemporary

Contemporary music can be described as music that is currently being written, recorded and performed. It is distinctively modern in style and understood to be from the current century, depicting modern themes and it is musically commercial.

Exam Pieces

Students may perform their exam pieces i.e. Trinity / Unisa Exams under this category.

Jazz

Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation.  

Modern

International or local hits currently playing on the radio; either up-tempo, mid-tempo or ballad.

Open

This category allows the participant the freedom to enter any piece as an own choice. 

Own Arrangement

An own arrangement is a musical reconceptualization of a previously composed work.

It may differ from the original work by means of reharmonization, melodic paraphrasing, orchestration, or development of the formal structure.

Arranging is the art of giving an existing melody musical variety.

Own Composition

This category creates an opportunity for the creation of your own compositions.

An original work is one not received from others nor one copied from or based upon the work of others.

Pop

Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin, and country; nonetheless, there are core elements that define pop music.

Identifying factors include generally short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), as well as common use of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks.

Quick Study

Music will be sent to the affiliate by e-mail, 48 hours before the performance.

Rock

Rock music is a broad genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the 1960s and 1970s. It is based around amplified instruments, especially the electric guitar and electric bass, and is characterized by a strong bass line and driving rhythms.

There are the repetitive and catchy riffs and melodies and the steady beat and contagious energy behind everything.

Romantic

The Romantic period of music is from 1830 to 1930. Romantic composers aimed for a store powerful expression of emotion, often revealing their innermost thoughts and feelings.

Romantic music is not just about the emotion of love, it can also be about hate or death (positive or negative feelings).

Composers such as Weber, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Berlioz and Wagner were heavyweights of Romantic period music.

Sight-Reading

This is an unprepared genre.

Music will be given to the participant 5 minutes before the start of the performance by the adjudicator.

Technical Works

A short instrumental composition, designed primarily to aid the student in improving his technical ability.

Vocal Genre Descriptions

All items can be performed in Afrikaans and/or English and participants can enter as many genres as they wish.  

Singers may play a musical instrument as accompaniment to their vocal performances.
All songs must be in good taste and age appropriate.  

All Vocal items are limited to 2 minutes per performance.

A Capella

A Capella is technically defined as singing without instrumental accompaniment.


Ballad

A ballad is a song that tells a story, and it can be dramatic, funny, or romantic. You can find ballads in a variety of musical styles, from country-western to rock n' roll.

The ballad is an old musical form. Ballads are often by anonymous composers, passed down from generation to generation.  Exmples include “The Ballad of Jesse James,"

A ballad can also be a slow, romantic song.  The word ballad comes from medieval French balade, a dancing song.

Baroque

Music from the period 1600 - 1750.  An overall characteristic of Baroque Music is that a single musical piece tended to project a single mood or expression of feeling.

Some general characteristics of Baroque Music are:
-  A single melodic idea
- Continuous rhythmic drive
- Balance of Homophonic and polyphonic textures.
- Orchestral - strings, winds and harpsichord with very little percussion.
-  Abrupt shifts from loud to soft - achieved by adding or subtracting instruments.

Broadway

A song written for the musical / broadway theatre. The song selected may be any style as long as it is from a pre-existing musical / broadway production.

Stronger characterisation is important.  

Costume and movement will enhance your performance. 

Classical

Classical music is generally understood to be music rooted in Western European traditions performed by trained musicians in formal settings like concert halls, opera houses, and churches.

Its key emphasis is the faithful interpretation of composers' written scores.  It describes music that is considered serious or intellectual and is usually written in a traditional or formal style, as opposed to such genres as pop, rock and folk music.

Classical music includes music by composers like Albonini, Bach, Chopin, DeBussy, Handel, Ibert, Janaceck, Teleman, Verdi, Wagner etc.

Classical music was written during the period 1750 - 1830.

Country Western

Also known as Country & Western music. This music form is developed mostly in the southern United States of America, with roots in traditional folk music, spirituals and blues.

Contemporary

Contemporary music is defined as music that is currently being written, recorded and performed.  

Exam Pieces

Students may perform their exam pieces i.e. Trinity / Unisa Exams under this category.

Gospel

Gospel music is a genre of Christian music. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of gospel music varies according to culture and social context.

The song has to have a gospel message and a clear religious lyric.

Latin

This type of music refers to music originating from Latin America.

Due to its highly syncretic nature, Latin American music encompasses a wide variety of styles, including influential genres such as bachata, bossa nova, merengue, rumba, salsa, samba, son, and tango.  

Light Music

Light music is a less-serious form of Western classical music, which originated in the 18th and 19th centuries and continues today.

The style is through-composed, usually shorter orchestral pieces and suites designed to appeal to a wider context and audience than more sophisticated forms such as the concerto, the symphony and the opera.

Occasionally also known as mood music and concert music, light music is often grouped with the easy listening genre. Many compositions in this genre remain familiar through their use as themes in film, radio and television series.

Modern

International or local hits currently playing on the radio; either up-tempo, mid-tempo or ballad.

Movie Pictures

Music from a commercially released soundtrack album.

Songs as featured in the soundtrack of a film, video, or television presentation.

Open

The Open genre is also available for singers who prefer to do a genre not offered in our selection, or for the more creative singer, who wishes to perform a vocal medley.

Opera

An aria from an opera or operetta, with a varied compositional
output.

Operetta

Operetta is a genre of light opera, light in terms both of music and subject matter. It is also closely related, in English-language works, to forms of musical theatre.

It includes spoken dialogue, songs, and dances. "Operetta" is the Italian diminutive of "opera" and was used originally to describe a shorter, perhaps less ambitious work than an opera.

Own Arrangement

Pop

Pop music is a genre of popular music. Although much of the music that appears on record charts is seen as pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music.

Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin, and country; nonetheless, there are core elements that define pop music.

Identifying factors include generally short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), as well as common use of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks.

R&B/Soul/Jazz

Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans and developed from roots in blues and ragtime. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation.

R&B is a music genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues, pop, soul, funk, hip hop and electronic music.

Soul music combines elements of African-American gospel music, rhythm and blues and jazz.

Rap

Genre of African-American music of the 1980s and 1990s in which rhyming lyrics are chanted to a musical accompaniment.

Rapping (or rhyming, spitting, emceeing, MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular", which is performed or chanted in a variety of ways, usually over a backing beat or musical accompaniment.

Rock

Rock music is a broad genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the 1960s and 1970s. It is based around amplified instruments, especially the electric guitar and electric bass, and is characterized by a strong bass line and driving rhythms.

There are the repetitive and catchy riffs and melodies and the steady beat and contagious energy behind everything.

Romantic

The Romantic period started around 1830 and ended around 1900, as compositions became increasingly expressive and inventive.

Expansive symphonies, virtuosic piano music, dramatic operas, and passionate songs took inspiration from art and literature. Famous Romantic composers include Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Mahler, Verdi etc

Music will be sent to the affiliate by e-mail, 48 hours before the performance

Technical Studies

A short instrumental composition, designed primarily to aid the student in improving his technical ability

World Music (Traditional)

Pick a song that is associated with a specific country (a Folks tune).

Songs can include ethnic, indigenous music, folk music and traditional music.

Kunswerke Genre Beskrywings

Kunswerke

Kunswerke mag SLEGS ingedien word in die volgende kategorieë en voorgeskrewe temas soos gepubliseer op ons webwerf.

Alle Inskrywings moet aan die volgende riglyne voldoen:
-  Gemonteer op A3-grootte (let wel NIE A4 nie) karton. Montering op enige ander materiaal soos hout, metaal, glas, ens. sal nie aanvaar word nie.
-  Fotografie mag wel op A4-grootte karton monteer word.
-  Die addisionele vorm moet agterop elke kunswerk aangebring moet word:  KUNS 2020 ADDISIONELE VORM

Collage

'n Collage is 'n kunswerk wat 'n verskeidenheid materiale bevat. Dit behels dikwels die vasplak van dinge soos papier, lap of voorwerpe op 'n doek of bord om sodoende 'n skildery of komposisie te vorm.

Verskillende mediums kan gebruik word, maar GEEN konstruksie werk word toegelaat nie.

Fotografie

Enige tipe kamera kan gebruik word: digitaal, vaste fokus of professioneel.

Die foto moet 'n boodskap oordra.  Die foto moet deur die deelnemer SELF geneem word. Alles moet die kind se eie werk wees.

Plagiaat van bestaande foto's sal nie aanvaar word nie.

Gekleurde Potlood

Kunswerk moet ten minste 80% kleurpotlood hê. 

Gemengde Medium

Gemengde medium kuns verwys na 'n visuele kunsvorm wat 'n verskeidenheid verskillende media en teksture in 'n enkele kunswerk kombineer.

As jy byvoorbeeld met ink teken, verf dit dan met waterkleure, voeg dan 'n paar hoogtepunte in kleurpotlood by - dit is gemengde media!

Grys Potlood

Grys potlood is 'n baie harder sketsmedium as charcoal en kan meer gekontroleerd detail skets. bv die oë en hare.

Maak gebruik van verskillende diktes potlode - 8H-8B. Gladder papier kan ook gebruik word.
Omdat hierdie medium so hard is, smeer dit nie maklik nie. Dus word min of geen
‘fixitive’ (seellaar) benodig. 

Houtskool

Dit is 'n mat, donker sagte sketsmedium wat maklik smeer. Daarom is 'n "fixitive” (seellaar) baie belangrik.

Dis 'n geskikte medium vir skakerings en dramatiese werke. Maak seker die gryn van papier is voldoende. Gladde papieroppervlaktes werk nie effektief nie.

Kaartjie

Vrye keuses van idees en medium en materiaal word gebruik.

Selfs gekoopte "voorwerpe" kan daarop gebruik word.

Pastelle

Pastelle is 'n kunsmedium in die vorm van 'n stokkie, bestaande uit suiwer poeierpigment en 'n bindmiddel.

Die pigmente wat in pastelle gebruik word, is dieselfde as dié wat gebruik word om alle gekleurde kunsmedia te produseer.

Verf

Gebruik enige verf soos waterverf, akriel verf ens. Slegs verf word gebruik.

Kreatiewe Skryfwerk

Kreatiewe Skryfwerk

     Slegs leerders in Graad 4 tot 12 mag deelneem in die afdeling.

Papier sal voorsien word maar die deelnemers moet hulle eie penne en woordeboeke saambring.
Onderwerpe word die dag van die skryffees uitgereik. M.a.w. dit is ʼn onvoorbereide item.

Deelnemers kan vir die volgende items inskryf:

o Afrikaans Opstel (Eerste Taal)
o Afrikaans Opstel (Tweede Taal)
o Afrikaans Poësie (Eerste Taal)
o Afrikaans Poësie (Tweede Taal)
o Engels opstel (Eerste Taal)
o Engels opstel (Tweede Taal)
o Engels Poësie (Eerste Taal)
o Engels Poësie (Tweede Taal)

Kore, Spreekkore, Sêrriegroepe & Revue Genre Beskrywings

Kore

'n Bepaalde werk mag nie in meer as een afdeling aangebied word nie.
Werke van kontrasterende style moet aangebied word.
Transposisie is toelaatbaar.

Maak deurgaans van eie keuse gebruik maar maak seker die standaard pas by die ouderdomsgroep. Die standaard van die werke sal by die beoordeling in aanmerking geneem word.

'n Afskrif van die koorwerke of stuk moet voor die optrede aan die beoordelaar oorhandig word.

Begeleiding deur middel van klavier of enige ander musiekinstrument, asook klankbane is toelaatbaar.

KATEGORIEë:

1.  Koorprogram van 5 tot 10 minute, wat bestaan uit:
• (1) Gewyde lied, (2) Ligte lied en (3) Enige lied in 'n ANDER taal
• Een lied moet a capella gesing word.
• Maak gebruik van minstens twee verskillende tale.

2.  Individuele kooritems se keuses is die volgende:
• Eenstemmige lied
• Tweestemmige lied
• Meerstemmige lied (3 stemme of meer)
• Afrika werk
• Klassieke kontemporêr
• Ligte kontemporêr
• Gewyde lied
• Volkslied

Spreekkore (Choral Verse)

'n Bepaalde werk mag nie in meer as een afdeling aangebied word nie.

Maak deurgaans van eie keuse gebruik maar maak seker die standaard pas by die ouderdomsgroep. Die standaard van die werke sal by die beoordeling in aanmerking geneem word.

'n Afskrif van die stuk moet voor die optrede aan die beoordelaar oorhandig word.

KATEGORIEë:

1. Program wat bestaan uit:
(1) Eie Keuse
(2) Bybelse uittreksel
(3) Gedramatiseerde stuk 
Tydsduur: 4 tot 5 minute

2. Individuele items 
- Maksimum van 4 stukke word toegelaat.
Tydsduur: 1-2 minute


Sêrriegroep (Sanggroep)

Maak deurgaans van eie keuse gebruik maar maak seker die standaard pas by die ouderdomsgroep. Die standaard van die werke sal by die beoordeling in aanmerking geneem word.

'n Afskrif van die stuk moet voor die optrede aan die beoordelaar oorhandig word.

Die optrede kan met of sonder begeleiding uitgevoer word.

Tydsduur:  8-14 minute

Revue

Maak deurgaans van eie keuse gebruik maar maak seker die standaard pas by die ouderdomsgroep. Die standaard van die werke sal by die beoordeling in aanmerking geneem word.

Tydsduur:  20-30 minute

Orkes Genre Beskrywings

Orkes

'n Bepaalde werk mag nie in meer as een afdeling aangebied word nie.
Werke van kontrasterende style moet aangebied word.
Transposisie is toelaatbaar.

1.  Orkesprogram van 7 tot 10 minute, wat bestaan uit 4 stukke:
(1) Formele lied / Formal song
(2) Informele lied / Informal song
(3) Tradisionele lied / Traditional song
(4) Eie keuse (enige genre) / Own choice (any genre) 


2.  Individuele orkes items kan bestaan uit verskillende (eie keuse) genres (maksimum 4x individuele stukke):
 bv • Klassiek, Jazz ens
