All items can be performed in Afrikaans and/or English and participants can enter as many genres as they wish, but only 1 item per language per genre.
All acting performances must be in good taste and age appropriate.
Where props are used, participants must be able to carry it on/off performance space themselves.

| Broadway / Musical theatre |
A genre of drama in which singing play an essential part. This genre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and movement. The performance must be from a known Broadway show or Musical. It must consist of 50% - 70% spoken dialogue. The balance must be singing. No backtrack/backing music is allowed. Costumes and makeup must be suitable for the chosen play. |

A person using gestures and movement should portray an original situation. No speech and props may be used. Participants will be adjudicated on the use of movement and space. Mime attire should be worn if possible. Advisable to "announce" the topic by using an A4 white cardboard with the topic written on it. This entry will fall under the Afrikaans section. |

This section can only contain music from a Broadway or West End Musical and cannot contain music from Motion pictures. |

Classical music describes music that is considered serious or intellectual and is usually written in a traditional or formal style. Classical music includes music by composers from Albonini to Bach, Chopin, DeBussy, Elgar, Franck, Gerswin, Handel, Ibert, Janaceck, Kuhlau, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Offenbach, Palestrina, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Teleman, Verdi and Wagner. Written between 1750-1830. |

Contemporary music can be described as music that is currently being written, recorded and performed. It is distinctively modern in style and understood to be from the current century, depicting modern themes and it is musically commercial. |

Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. |

This category allows the participant the freedom to enter any piece as an own choice. |

An own arrangement is a musical reconceptualization of a previously composed work It may differ from the original work by means of reharmonization, melodic paraphrasing, orchestration, or development of the formal structure Arranging is the art of giving an existing melody musical variety Please bring a copy of your composition with and hand it in to the adjudicator prior to your performance. |

1. 'n Spreekkoor is 'n groep leerders wat saam 'n gedig (eie keuse volgens ouderdomsvlak) uitvoer. Klein aanpassings soos herhalings van sekere dele, klein veranderings aan die formaat en toevoegings van die gedig is toelaatbaar. <br>2. Afrikaans en/of Engels. Eie keuse.<br>3. Tydsduur: 2 tot 4 minute<br>4. Minimum van 15 leerders per groep.<br>5. Eenvormige kleredrag.<br>6. Dekor en rekwisiete is toelaatbaar mits dit self deur die leerders hanteer kan word en 'n positiewe bydrae tot die gedig lewer.<br>7. Met die beoordeling word die klem egter op die stemgebruik en stemwisseling, gesigsuitdrukkings, tempovariasie, ens. gelê en nie noodwendig op dekor, rekwisiete en kostuums nie.<br>8. NUUT! Geen "dirigent" word toegelaat om die spreekkore te lei nie.
Maak deurgaans van eie keuse gebruik maar maak seker die standaard pas by die ouderdomsgroep. Die standaard van die werke sal by die beoordeling in aanmerking geneem word
